结婚证公证是公证机构根据当事人的申请，依法对其所持有的结婚证书的真实性予以证明的活动。

在中国办理结婚证的公证，需要准备的材料有申请人的身份证原件;申请人的户口簿原件，集体户籍的申请人提供《常住人口登记卡》本人页原件及经过籍在单位盖章的首页复印件;

在加拿大办理中国结婚证的公证，只需要扫描发来结婚证本身的扫描件，不需要提供户口本和身份证这些文件。

According to the Marriage Law, both the man and the woman desiring to contract a marriage shall register in person with the marriage registration office.
